TAIJI TOGETHER
PUSHING HANDS 'OPEN' NIGHT

PUSHING HANDS is a very important aspect of practicing Tai Chi Chuan. It is in the act of two friends pushing each other that the individual can learn to correct and adapt their Tai Chi posture and internal energy - one cannot learn these 'fine details' and 'internal twistings' by practicing Form work alone.

Pushing Hands is about learning to manage the incoming and outgoing of energy (Chi) and is a fine detailed examination of posture, spinal alignment and being grounded/rooted whilst moving.

Pushing Hands can also be great fun, a 'game of chess' between two Tai Chi Players trying to outwit eachother in a friendly and good humoured way

The first Taiji Together Pushing Hands Open Night was a great success with 18 people turning up to the event - the two hours just seemed to fly by! An equal balance of both genders and all ages, it was a great atmosphere. The next session will be,

7.00pm to 9.00pm

at Baltonsborough Village Hall

Thursday 12th June

Suitable for all levels of experience, and you'll spend 5 to 10 minutes pushing hands with each person that attends - it is good to try people of all different shapes and sizes and levels of experience.

Aggresive and arrogant behaviour will not be tolerated so please don't feel shy or nervous - this is meant to be a productive and fun experience for everybody who attends - it is in the best interest of everbody that we all help each other become better than we are.

COST - is variable. This is a not-for-profit scheme. The cost of the venue will be split evenly between whoever turns up, 'the more the merrier' - if ten people turn up it will cost as little as £2.00 for the two hours per person, the first event had eighteen people so was only £1.00 each!

The next Pushing Hands Open Nights are,

June - Thursday 12th

July - Friday 11th

August - Thursday 7th

September - Friday 12th

October - Thursday 9th

November - Friday 14th

December - Thursday 11th
